About Me

Hello, my name is Jackson Shepherd. I'm a 19 year old college student currently majoring in Information and Computer technologies. I grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, and have lived there my entire life. I like to build computers and play video games in my spare time. I'm a night owl who doesn't go to bed on time ever but I still manage to get up in the morning. I drink lots of tea and coffee as well.

I want to help change the world by working in the tech industry as most of our world relies on tech now. With companies like SpaceX and Google constantly making innovations to further technology and humanity as a whole it is a great industry to get into. When I'm not getting involved in tech myself I like to teach others about it or to do IT work for people who don't know as much about technology. I believe that it is vastly important for people to know about technology today as not knowing about it can often lead to doubt and even a fear of technology. I also encourage people to get involved in the tech industry as businesses and people that know tech and implement it well can soar past competition in terms of production and productivity.

When I think about how to describe myself I like to see myself as hardworking and dedicated to whatever project or assignment I am working on. Whether its schoolwork or a passion project I like to work to perfection. I like to implement my own interests into my work, more often than not that means when I do a project, I like to use the latest technology to accomplish my goal.

I'm a creative person. I doodle a lot when I'm working because sometimes I have an idea or just some creative overflow that I need to get out of my system. Innovation is what drives the world forward and it never stops. I've found that if you don't have a "go with the flow" mentality the world will leave you behind, confused and unaware of the changes in society, technology, and how the world functions as a whole. So I try to be creative in my work, think outside the box, and see any job or assignment from a different angle and attempt to do something new.

I hope to branch out and travel the world someday so the possibility of overseas travel with a job in technology sounds awesome to me. Some of the work Tesla did in Puerto Rico after hurricane Maria really showed me how much we can do for those in need on a global scale with technology like solar panels, faster internet, and even something like air conditioning. Just making people's lives easier in places where it normally wouldn't be is a grand idea to me, and I hope that someday I'll be able to make a large impact on the world.
